In November
of 2002, Dr. Mark Beamer returned to Belhaven and opened
Pungo Family Medicine. Dr. Beamer is a graduate of East
Carolina University and served as a practicing physician
in Belhaven for six (6) years before moving on to Montana.
After practicing in Montana for two (2) years, Dr. Beamer
felt a need to return to the Belhaven area where he could
once again practice rural medicine.
Upon
returning, Dr. Beamer invited Mary Gardener, FNP to join
the practice to help provide primary care services. Ms.
Gardner, FNP is also a graduate of East Carolina University.
Both Dr. Beamer and Ms. Gardner have excellent credentials
and a wealth of experience to offer their patients. In
addition, they have a genuine concern for providing quality
healthcare services to the citizens of Beaufort and Hyde
Counties.
Pungo
Family Medicine strives to provide these quality healthcare
services for the entire family by offering a variety of
primary care services including medical treatment of illness
and disease, preventive health services, patient and community
education, prenatal services, and patient assistance programs.
Pungo
Family Medicine is staffed with 5 full-time employees,
in addition to the two providers, Dr. Mark Beamer and
Mary Gardner, FNP. Laboratory services are available at
the clinic as well as drug testing, physical examinations
for preventive health, school and sports activities, ands
pre-employment, DOT physicals, etc.
The
office is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am –
5:00 pm. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins are
accepted.
